Kindermusik® Classes (Newborn to Age 7)

What is Kindermusik, and how is it different from other early childhood music programs?
Kindermusik is a research-backed music and movement curriculum designed for children from birth to age 7. It’s playful and developmentally rich, supporting your child’s growth across eight key domains while introducing foundational musical concepts.
The Kindermusik program at Piano Central Studios is an award-winning program and has achieved Top Program recognition from Kindermusik International since Top Programs were first recognized in 2000.
What will my child actually learn in a Kindermusik class?
Children build rhythmic skills, pitch-matching, steady beat, musical vocabulary, and ensemble cooperation. Beyond music, they gain language, motor, social, and pre-academic skills.
Which level is best for my child?
Levels are designed around developmental stages, with intentional age overlaps to allow flexibility. We’re happy to help you choose the best fit based on your child’s age and readiness.
Do parents attend Kindermusik classes too?
Yes! In the younger levels, parents participate fully. Even in the older classes, parents join in at the end during Sharing Time — and you’re always encouraged to stay connected through the app and resources at home.
My child is in preschool or takes dance. Can we still do Kindermusik?
Absolutely. Kindermusik complements other activities by reinforcing physical coordination, creativity, social-emotional development, and school readiness — all through music.
What if my child has special needs?
Kindermusik is inclusive and adaptable. Many children with developmental, sensory, or emotional needs thrive in our classes.
Can I bring a sibling to class?
Siblings may attend if they’re enrolled in the same or another level as long as the class size can accommodate. Please let us know ahead of time if you need to bring a sibling to class.
What is your Kindermusik makeup policy?
We offer unlimited makeups while you're enrolled. You can even attend multiple classes in a week if needed.
Is there a long-term commitment?
Not at all. Kindermusik is month-to-month. Just submit a withdrawal form by the end of the month if you need to pause or discontinue.

Group Lessons (Ages 6–9)

What are Studio Singers classes like?
Studio Singers is our small-group voice class that helps young singers learn vocal technique, pitch, musicality, and teamwork. It’s an ideal environment for creative expression and vocal confidence.  Studio Singers classes are 45 minutes long.
What is Piano Express, and why do families love it?
Piano Express is a gamified group piano program where kids learn 50+ songs in the first three months. It blends traditional piano instruction with cutting-edge technology in a fun, pressure-free setting.  Piano Express classes are 60 minutes long.
Which students are best suited for group lessons instead of private?
Most beginners ages 6–9 do best in our group classes. The collaborative setting builds musicianship and confidence and transitions well into private lessons when students are ready.
Can students move from group lessons to private lessons later?
Absolutely. Our programs are designed to grow with your child. Group lessons build a solid foundation that supports a smooth transition into one-on-one instruction.
Where are group lessons held?
Group classes are held at both our Greenville (Pleasantburg Drive) and Simpsonville (Woodruff Road) studio locations. Specific class times vary, and we’ll work with you to find a good fit.
What if we miss a group class?
Your teacher will share the same class assignment provided to the rest of the class. There's no need for a separate make-up session.

Private Lessons (Ages 6–Adult)

What instruments do you teach?
We offer private lessons in piano, voice, violin, viola, guitar, ukulele, flute, clarinet, saxophone, oboe, French horn, and more.
What ages do you teach?
We teach students ages 6 through adult.  We teach all levels of students, from beginners to advanced and from hobbyists to competition-ready musicians.
What can I expect in a private lesson?
You’ll receive personalized instruction based on your goals and learning style. Lessons are enriched with group musicianship classes, performance opportunities, and the Milestones Awards Program.
How long are private lessons?
Lesson lengths are 30, 45, or 60 minutes once a week. We’ll help you choose the best fit based on age, level, and focus.
What if we miss a lesson?
We don’t reschedule missed lessons, but you’ll receive the full benefit of your teacher's time with a Digital Lesson Assignment (DLA). You can also attend Group Musicianship Classes or Studio Performance Parties as makeup options during the school year.
What happens in summer?
Enrollment continues in the summer with six lessons.  Private lesson students choose their weeks in advance. After May 31, lessons can’t be rescheduled, but your teacher will provide a personalized DLA if you’re absent.
Are your teachers qualified?
Yes. Most have music degrees and professional experience. All are carefully screened and selected not only for their skills, but also for their warmth, professionalism, and love of teaching.
What’s included in tuition?
Tuition includes weekly private lessons, group musicianship classes, our awards program, recital opportunities, and access to the PCS and Practice Space apps. Books and materials are billed separately.
How do I help my child practice?
Set a routine, celebrate consistency, review teacher notes, and show interest. Encouragement from you goes a long way! You can track practice via the Practice Space app.
What’s the enrollment commitment?
Enrollment is ongoing from August to July. You may pause or withdraw anytime with written notice before the 1st of the month.
