Private Lessons

Private Lessons: School-Age Students

In the traditional one-on-one instructional setting, private lesson students thrive in a personalized and customized approach tailored to their unique learning style, musical interests, and pace.

Private Lessons: Adults

Whether you’re a beginner, a hobbyist, or an advancing student who wants to continue to develop your musical skills, you’ll enjoy the private, one-on-one lesson setting as an adult student. We’ll work with you to help you learn the music you want to learn at the pace at which you can make the best progress.

Specialty Lessons

PCS Music Artistry at BJU

In addition to offering music instruction to students enrolled at Bob Jones Academy, PCS has partnered with Bob Jones University’s Division of Music to provide private and group music lessons to school-age students and adult learners living in the upstate community.

Elite Artistry Piano Study Program

For students who want to be on a serious track of musical study, our Elite Artistry Program offers a more accelerated and intensive private lesson experience and including a longer weekly lesson. An audition into the program is required.

Suzuki Method Lessons

Suzuki lessons are particularly well-suited for younger beginners whose parents can actively engage in the weekly lessons and in daily practice at home, partnering with the Suzuki teacher in supporting the student’s ongoing learning and progress.

Group Classes

Introductory Classes

When you’re just starting to take those first steps into music lessons, an introductory class can give both you and your child a big dose of affirmation and a big jumpstart into learning to sing or play an instrument.

Group Lessons

With two to six students in a class, small group sizes offer the best of both worlds—lots of attention from the teacher combined with the fun and camaraderie of being in class with other students around the same age.

Amy

How to help your school-age child choose what kind of music lessons to take:

  • Which instrument does your child seem most drawn to? What kind of music do they like?
  •  How do you see your child using their musical abilities 5, 10, or even 20 years from now?
  • Is your child always humming or singing? Are they in a church or school choir and want to get better at singing or doing solos?
  • If they are considering learning a new instrument, which instrument might your child’s prior musical experience have best prepared them for?
  • For band instruments, consider the shape of your child’s mouth. Do they wear braces?
  • Are they interested or enrolled in the Band or Orchestra program at their school?
  • Do you have an instrument already, or are you prepared to rent or buy an instrument?

We invite you to think through these questions and then give us a call for a free consultation. With your input, we can help guide you in choosing the kind of lessons and matching up with the best PCS music teacher for your child.
